Alan MacPhee is an advocate for many community groups that supports local health care initiative, economy issues in rural PEI and fundraisers to help local and global charities.
Alan is on the board of directors of Islandwide Hospital Access. This group was formed to promote Hospital and Health Access on PEI with a focus on Rural PEI and Eastern PEI. This is an ongoing commitment on his part. He is constantly keeping up on the health issues as they arise working to keep an adequate number of doctors in our community and to keep necessary services like dialysis and walk in clinics. He takes many calls from the community, listening to their issues and then presenting them to Health PEI for attention. Meetings are held which he speaks at and many letters are writing publically and privately to address current issues.
Alan made a generous donation of $50,000 to the Eastern Kings Health Foundation to help them meet their fundraising goals for medical equipment.
